The Alzheimer’s Association’s Chief Programs officer recently posted a video that answers a variety of questions regarding a dementia diagnosis. These questions include, “What does the diagnosis mean?” and “What do you do, say, and ask?”
According to the Alzheimer’s Association, Dementia is a general term for a decline in mental ability severe enough to interfere with everyday life. There are different types of Dementia, and they include:
- Alzheimer’s disease
- Vascular dementia
- Dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB)
- Mixed dementia
- Parkinson’s disease
- Frontotemporal dementia
- Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease
- Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus
- Huntington’s Disease
- Wernicke-Korsakoff Syndrome
